Getting Real about “Getting Hit by a Bus” by John Hill, CEO of Pinnacle Advisory Group.  Much has been written lately about the aging of individuals who own RIA firms and the lack of succession planning that has been done by this group.  At 58, I am the poster child for this group of owners and my partners and I at Pinnacle Advisory Group are working on this very issue.  Now sensitive to the problem, we are not only realizing how important the solution is for the future success of the firm, but also how difficult it can be not just for large firms like our own, but even more so for smaller firms with fewer options.  Today I wanted to share with you what we are learning and offer a practical new continuity planning solution. (For more information about John Hill, please visit www.PinnacleAdvisorSolutions.com)

A Cutting Edge Symposium for Emerging RIAs

We have assembled a list of nationally renowned speakers who have extensive experience working with RIAs with exciting plans for growth.  The essence of the symposium is to present the keys issues and concerns that you face in the years ahead as well as explore a variety of solutions to these pressing challenges.

We have previously hosted similar symposiums in the DC Metro, New York Metro and Atlanta Metro areas.  Based on the strong feedback and to make this content available to a broader audience, we have decided to host the next Emerging RIA Symposium on-line via a webinar series.

The First Step to Achieving Your Business Goals

As an Independent RIA, you must be an effective business owner as well as an excellent financial advisor if you are going to accomplish your goals.

  • How will you develop new clients and grow your firm?
  • How will you execute a strategy that is scalable, successful and marketable?
  • How will you risk manage investments in a more turbulent investment environment?

As a business owner, you will encounter a number of challenges that will be perplexing, time consuming and potentially threatening to your firm.  That is precisely why this webinar series may be the first step towards acheiving you business goals.

Emerging Advisor (RIA) Association

Our hope in sponsoring these events is to (a) provide useful practice management content, (b) connect emerging advisors willing to share their experiences with like-minded advisors; and (c) to stimulate interest in the creation of an Emerging RIA Association.

In that vein, we are taking several steps to move the ball along: we expect to provide Emerging Advisors additional content to help them grow their practices; we have created this website to host future events and additional information; and we have created a LinkedIn Group named the Emerging RIA Association to facilitate communication between Emerging Advisors.
